Alfanoose

A small, mostly take-out restaurant, but with 3 stools in the back so one may eat at the counter. On a crowded street south of City Hall, there is often a line out during weekdays at lunchtime. To the right and against the wall, the meat dishes and the falafel are cooked behind the food display of prepared foods. Meat dishes include shawarma (marinated meat), kabobs and kibbeh (cracked wheat with lambe meat). Vegetarian offerings from homous, baba ganouge, grape leaves, foul mudammas (fava and chickbeans), tabouli, mojadara (cracked wheat with lentil and onion), spinach pie, vegetarian kibbeh and more.

Beverages available: sodas, juices, water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate.

Delicious food in a small place. But this restaurant is no longer at 150 fulton. It is expected to be open somewhere in a nearby location.
Best Falafel in Manhattan10 / 10
//
This may be the best falafel in Manhattan. Only six months old, this place is developing a following. Opened by a Lebanese and a Syrian, the food is prepared fresh every day and served fresh. The attention to food details for a take-out restaurant is amazing and one can taste it. The service is courteous and fast and questions about dish ingredients are politely answered. The food areas are also kept quite clean. For a healthy, fast or slow, cheap meal, Alfanoose may be number one.
